My Approach:
“I am not what has happened to me, I am what I choose to become.” - Carl Jung
This quote has been a guiding light in my own life as well as being a foundational belief of my therapeutic process and approach. Meaning making is the process of reclaiming your life, your body, and your experiences to create the life that you want and deserve. Whether this is your first time in therapy or returning, you are so brave to take this first step of honoring and caring for yourself.
“We cannot change anything until we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses.” - Carl Jung
I believe that each person is an expert of their own life experience and that behavior makes sense in context. By developing a foundation of self-acceptance and self-compassion, we will work together to identify, acknowledge, and accept the ways in which you have survived life so far; honoring the emotions and experiences of your past, while empowering you to make conscious, authentic choices to direct your future.
Whether you are seeking ongoing personal support, processing of a sudden life event, or ready to work through past trauma - therapy can help. As humans, we all desire to be heard, validated, and understood.
Blending research-based interventions with honoring the uniqueness of each person's needs, my goal is to listen to understand, provide compassionate reflection and perspective, empowering support, and the emotional space needed to do this healing work, together.
